The brigantine Racer, Capt Hughea, from London to Southland, New Zealand, reports having left the Downs on the 27th June ; experienced moderate weather throughout the principal part of the voyage ; crossed the equator on the Ist August, and the meridian of. Greenwich on SOth August; ran her eastings down in 45 degrees south, with moderate westerly weather ; sighted the West Cape at 5 a.m. on the 12th October, being the first land sighted after leaving the Downs; experienced a heavy westerly gale, with tremendous sea, in the Straits, arrived at Bluff at 11 a.m. same day. The ship Maria, Capt. Duncan, having now finished the discharge of the Southland portion of her cargo, will take her departure during the course of to-day for Otago.
