ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY.
(to the editor of the southland times.) Sib — Recently I paid a visit to the Salmon Ponds at Wallacetown. in virtue of my subscription ticket to the Acclimatisation Society which informs subscribers in a nota iene that " none but members will be privileged to visit the ponds or grounds," and was somewhat surprised to find posted on the enclosure the following notice: — "No persons admitted to the fish ponds without an order. All others found on this property are trespassers, and will be prosecuted as such. Dogs Site strictly prohibited from being brought on the ground." Now, Sir,- I would feel obliged if you could explain to me the apparent contrariety between the subscription, ticket and the notice, as until it is definitely explained, I shall certainly consider myself entitled to the privilege granted to me by the ticket, and in any case will take the benefit of the doubt until its expiracy on the 3lst of March 1869.— 1 am, &c, A Subscribes.
