-. .- The s.s. Bangitoto arrived from Melbourne via Dunedin and Northern Ports at 9 a.m. on the 7th, inst. Left Sandridge wharf at 10 a.m. on the 1"9(3i ult., passed through the Heads at 2 p.m., ; . «nd theSchanck at 4 p.m. Passed Goose Island at 10 a.m. on the 20th. Made the land to the south of Hokitika at 5.30 a.m. on the 26th, and anchored at 9 a.m. Encountered Btrong head . winds- with heavy sea from Melbourne to Hokitika. Transhipped passengers into the T Bteamer Yarra the same afternoon, and left , for Greymouth at 5.30 on the 27th, arriving at 7.30 ajn. the same day. Transhipped passengers and cargo into the steamer Despatch, and sailed at 9 a.m: for Nelson, arriving there on the 28th at 8 a.m. Sailed for Wellington at 5 p.m. on the 29th, and arrived at 8 a.m. on the 30th. Sailed on the Ist October at 3 p.m. ; but on arriving at the Heads, sighted Ihe Euahine coming in. Put back, and took her passengers and mails for the Southern Ports, and failed again at 2 a.m., arriving at Lyttelton- :at i p.m. same day; left at - 3.30 pan. , on the"3rd, experiencmg strong head winds and-heavy sea, and arrived at Port Chalmers on the 4th at 6.30 p.m., and eailed for the Bluff on the 6th, at 5.30 p.m. Had head winds on the passage, and arrived as above.
