IMMIGRATION.
Mr Peabson .gave notice that on, Friday evehin^^ he would move the following resolutions pn Immigration : — " That in the opinion of this Council it is expedient to t make. . tperraanent provision for Immigration to this Province, by the creation of an inalienable fund of £50,000, applicable solely to the purposes of Immigration, or by the reserve of a block or blocks of land, as an endowment for the same purpose* " That such fund should be formed by the annual appropriation of a sum vof £10,000 for the period of five years. " That the administration of such fund and such reserves 'of land should be vested in a Board of Commissioners, to be styled^ Immigration C/bmmissibners, one of whom to be chairman, should be appointed by the Government, and the other two being members of the Provincial eouncil,j.shpuld' be elected by it, and remain in office during the continuance of the Provincial^. Council, by which they shall have been elected. •...•" That any. member of the, rßpard shall be removable by the Governor, on an address of the Provincial Council, agreed to by two-thirds' o:f £ the ; whole members of the Council. .... . .
