PEDIGEEE: Scotland's Pride Was foaled in 1857, bred by Mr John Anderson, of Smythson, Scotland; the celebrated Clydesdale mare, which gained the First Prize at the Highland Society's Show at Dumfries, in 1860, beating thirty-two others, considered very superior over all in her class (see Journal of Agriculture of the Highland Society of Scotland). The Sire was the celebrated Clydesdale Horse Lofty, who ; gained the Premium at Glasgow, open to all Scotland, and England.
