He is out of the imported mare Scotland's Pride (imported by G. H. Lee, Esq.,), by the famous Scotch horse' Tom Sayers. Tom Sayers was bred by Mr Lockhart, Kirkmahoch, Stranraer, and of. a thorough-bred Clydesdale mare, got by Rob Roy, the sire of Black Leg. PEDIGEEE: Scotland's Pride Was foaled in 1857, bred by Mr John Anderson, of Smythson, Scotland; the celebrated Clydesdale mare, which gained the First Prize at the Highland Society's Show at Dumfries, in 1860, beating thirty-two others, considered very superior over all in her class (see Journal of Agriculture of the Highland Society of Scotland). The Sire was the celebrated Clydesdale Horse Lofty, who ; gained the Premium at Glasgow, open to all Scotland, and England. Scotland's Pride was in foal (when sold to Mr Lee), to Mr Peter Crawford's Bay Horse, which gained the First Prize in the Three-year-old Class at the Highland Society's Show at Dumfries, in 1860. . . .. .
