The gentleman . observed that, though not professing to be man of" infinite jest" at table, he was nevertheless " a good, square feeder.'* To which a thin bystander replied, "I suppose, then, if not a man of infinite jest, you may fairly consider yourself a man of infinite digest!" And the party politely raised hats, and looked as though something had been said.
