IN pursuance of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of Now Zealand, intitutJed ' The Regulation of Elections Act, 1858,' I, James Surman, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Waiau, do hereby give notice that, by virtue of a Writ, bearing date the 19th day of August, 1868, issued under the hand of His Honor the Deputy Superintendent of Southland, an ELECTION will be held for the return of a qualified person to Berve as a member of the Provincial Council for the said Electoral District, and that the NOMINATION of CANDIDATES will take place at the house of Mr Aylmer, Run No. 166, on Thursday, the third day of September, 1868 ; and that the Poll (if necessary), will be taken on Saturday, the fifth day of September, 1868.
