ORIGINAL CORRESPONDENCE.

WE DO NOT IDENTIFY OUBSBLYBS IV ANY WAY WITH THB -OPINIONS EXPBESSBD BY OUB COBBESPONDENTS. •» PEPLY. (TO THE EDITOB OF THE SOtTCHIAND TIMES). Sib, — We have to state Mr Rose's assertion that our firm sought to obtfin a share in his almanac is a palps ble untruth. It is simply absurd to suppoia that we could identify ourselves with such a very poor burlesque on the n»ne of almanac. It is also untrue that we authorised any gentleman connected with our establishment to assert that Mr Eose did not intend to publish his work this year. We never troubled ourselves to inquire whether that individual contemplated doing so. This closes the correspondence on our part. — We are, &c, Beynolds & Co. lnvercargill, August 25th, 1868.
