THE CAPE.
The Cape mail brings intelligence of ft; strong opposition in the Orange Free State against the British and Colonial G-overnment assuming the protectorate of the Basutu State. The Boers also are opposed to the proceeding. A British force has crossed the Orange River, and_ fears were entertained of a collision with the Free State troops.
