"Wellington, Monday. — A meeting was held at Greytown on Saturday, called by its Municipal Council. Seventy fco eighty persons from town and neighborhood attended, also & few from elsewhere. The "Wairarapa petition for sstablishing it a county was adopted unanimously. Counter petitions are aeing numerously and influentially signed, rhe resignation of the speakership by Mr Bartley, the appointment of Major Bichardson thereto, and^ thejjalling of Mr Taylor, Supermiiendemc oFovutiii^dv ;o the Legislative Council, have been razetted.
