A man living on the banks of the river Ness died recently, and his corpse was laid on a stretcher, which was placed on a box or trunk. The river rose higher than it has done for fifty years, and the inmates of the cottage, with the exception of a boy, fled. On going back to the house when the water began to recede, the corpse was ftrand floating in two feet of water, and the boy sitting on the coffin, half-starved.
