ENTEBED INWABDS. June 4— City of Melbourne, 177 tons, Brown, from Newcastle, N.S.W. Hare, Pratt & Co. agents IMPOBTS. Per City of Melbourne — 120 tons coal, 1000 bushels maize, ICOO do bran, 10 cases oranges, 50 do apples, 10 do colonial wine, 15 pairs naves, 1000 spokes, 500 felloes, 1 ton leather, 20 kets butter, 30.000 feet timber, 10 cases lemons, 30 bullock poles, 6 cases ornamental shrubs.
The barque City of Melbourne, Captain Brown left Newcastle, N*S.W. on Sunday the 17th ult, with a N.N.E. breeze, which carried the vessel pleasantly on her voyage for the first three days. On the 20th, the wind veered round to 5.E. creating a heavy cross sea ; and on the 23rd, she encountered a heavy gale, with dirty weather, from the south, which continued with little intermission until the 28th. On the 29th, the weather moderated, the wind backing round from S.W. to N.W. and increasing to a gale again on the day following, pea very high. On tho 31st-, she made the Solanders at dusk, it was blowing hard with a tremendous sea on, Came to an anchor the same night, under the lee of Stewarts' Island, where she lay till Wednesday, June 3rd, when she stood aecross the Straits for New River. Wind strong with snow squalls. Could not make out the pilot signals, and stood off shore again until the next day. Thursday 4th inst., stood in for port again. Having no communication with the shore, and there being a very heavy sea on, had no alternative but try to run in, which was safely done and and the ship brought up off the Bombay rock. On the following day, (Friday), worked up the river and came alongside the Jetty
