TN pursuance of the provisions of an Act of •*• the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled " The Regulation of Elections Act, 1858," I, James Surman, Returning Officer for the Electoral district of Waiau, do hereby give notice that'by virtue of a Writ, bearing date 26th day of May, 1868, issued under the hand of His Honor the Superintendent of Southland, an ELECTION will be held for the return of a qualified person to serve as a MEMBER of the PROVINCIAL COUNCIL for the said Electoral District, and that the NOMINATION of CANDIDATES will take place at the House of Mr Aylmer, Run No. 166, on Saturday, the thirteenth day of June, 1868, and that the poll (if necessary) will be taken on Monday, the fifteenth day of June, 1868. Dated this 28th day of May, 1868. J. SURMAN, Returning Officer. The following are the polling places for the Electoral District of Waiau, viz. : — The Hotjbb or Mb Atlmeb, Rtjk No. 166. Thb Hottsh op Mb J. Howbll, Wbet's Bush. In the event of a Poll taking place, the state of the Poll will be declared at 1 o'clock p.m. on Tuesday, the 16th June, at the House of Mr Aylmer.
