SIXTEEN DAYS' LATER FROM CALIFORNIA.
[ San Fbancisco, 16th March, Via Sydney, 12th May. The barque Kate, from San Francisco, brings 4000 half-sacks and 7600 quartersacks of flour. She reports that the only vessel on the berth for the Australian colonies was the Ethen Allen, which was loading breadstuff's for Auckland. The 'Alta California' of the 16th March, states that the prices of flour range from 6dol. 25c. to Bdol. per sack of 1961b., and at these prices sales had been effected for export to China. There is no movement to note in wheat, transactions having been confined to supplying the wants of millers ; 2dol. 65c. per cental is a fair quotation. Barley has slightly declined in value. Choice oats are worth 2dol. 35c.
