Results o£ Meteorological Observations taken at the Government Station, Martendale, Southland, during the month of March, 1868. General Remarks.— The weather ww generally fine during the month, but windy and cold, the temperature being nearly six degrees below the nine years' average. The wind blew constantly from the W. and N.W., attaining the force of a gale on five days. The Equinoctial gales (N.N.W., and W.,) on the 19th and 21st blew with a pressure of 24 - 41bs to the square foot. Barometer (at 32degs Fahr., and sea level):— Maximum (on sth), 30-321 inches ; minimum (on 31st), 29-297 inches; mean pressure, 29-813 inches; total range, 1024. ■'. Radiation — Maximum, solar (on 2nd), 108'fl degs ; minimum, terrestrial (on 30th), 22 - 6 degs.
