The M.A. and N.ZS.S. Co.'s steamship Omeo' cleared Port Philip Heads at 7 p m. on the 11th inst. ;. passed Swan Island at 3 p.m. the following day; experienced strong S.W. winds the first twenty-frur hours, then strong S. and S.E. gales with very heavy sea, which lasted for two days — since then fre^h S.E. winds with thick weather; 1 aid too for twelve hours on the 16th, heing very thick ; sighted Solander Island at 7 a.m. on the 17th, and arrived, at Bluff Harbor at 6 p.m. on same day. The s.s., Tararua, Capt. Hagley, left PortChalmers at 5 p.m. on 18th ; had head winds and sea down hither ; arriving off the entrance at 9 p.m. on 19th. The s.s. Rangitoto left Melbourne at 11 a.tn. on the 15th inst., and had an ordinary run, with winds all the way to the Bluff, where elie arrived at nine on the morning of the 20th. Ste brought the English mails, and one saloon passenger for this port, carrying on ninety for the Northern Provinces. The ss. Claud Hanilton, John Vine Hall, commander, left the Sandridge Pier at 2 p.m. on the 21sfc ; passed the P.N.Z. Co.'s s.s. Auckland in the Bay ; cleared tlie Heads at 6.20 p.m. ; on 22nd. 5.3*0 p.m , passed Swan Island ; had fresh W.K.W. to S.W. breezes up to the 25th, when the wind increased to a strong gale from W.N.W. to S.W., with hard squalls and a heavy sea. At 2 p.m. 26th. passed the S'olander, and hove-to. at 8 p.m. in the Straits for the night, and arrived in the Bluff at 8 a.n,. on 29ih. The Claud brings six passengers and twenty-five tons cargo for this port. . The Celaeno hove off from the wharf yesterday afternoon, but on account of the gale of westerly winds which we have had for the last three days she did not proceed to sea., but brought up at the lower anchorage. In getting away from the wharf she grounded on the opposite bank, but came oft aguin as the tide made. Capt. fienaub intends proceeding to sea on the first indication of finer weather. I The s.B. Airedale, for Hokitika, is also waiting a slant to get away. Captain Kennedy intends tailing at Preservation Inlet on his way round to relieve the party who have fur some time been there prospecting for coal.
