A recent " Australasian " states that there is a fair pi-obability that the movement recently commenced in Melbourne for the opening up of commercial relations with Fiji will be attended with success. Many of the trading community feel disposed to go into the adventure, and the American Consul at that port has intimated that there will be no objections raised by the Government which he represents to the* operations of the propposed Commercial and Banking Company. If this scheme falls under good management, it may prove highly, advantageous to the trading and manufacturing interests of Victoria.
