DuNEDiir, Wednesday, — In the Council yesterday, for the amendment on the reply to the address affirming the necessity for more Hundreds, Ayes, 17 ; Noes, 17. The speaker gave his casting vote with the Noes. The Treasurer moved an adjou rnment of the Council until to-night, to enable the Government to consider what course to pursue. A soldier of the 18th Eegiment has been examined before the Magistrate charged with setting fire to a dwelling house : remanded.
