Presentation fbom the City cp Pabis to thb Empress of the Fbench. — The city of Paris has presented the Empress with a bijou in remembrance of the banquet given to the sovereigns at tho Hotel de Ville last July. The ornament is a reproduction of the city arms — azure being represented by a magnificent sapphire, on which are encrusted small fleurs delis in gold ; gules is formed of an enormous ruby, whilst the symbolical vessel is executed in powder of diamonds, j The whole is surrounded by a row of diamonds ' within ona of large pearls. The wives of high city functionaries wear a similar ornament as a badge ou their left shoulder. The Empress wears it on the corsage of her dress, attached to a bow of tricolor ribbon.
