Feb 18, 2 p.m. — Waihopai, s.s., from Invercar- **■ . . — - The steamsbip Omeo, 1000 tons, Hugh Mackie, comtnaader, cleared Port Philip at 7 p.m. on llih; passed Swan Island at 7 p.m. on the ' following day j experienced southerly winds the first twenty-four hours ; since then, fresh south and S.E. winds, with fine weather. Sighted the West Cape at 10 a.m., on the 16th ult., and arrived off the Bluff at 9 p.m. on the same day. The Omea brings telegrams of English news by the mail telegraphed at Adelaide on the 10th. The mail steamer entered Port Philip heads as the Omeo was leaving. Sighted a brig off the Solander, steering for Foveaux Straits. The""s.s. Eangitoto left Sandrid^e Pier on the I2th inst., having the English mail on board. She experienced fresh S. and S.E. winds, with fine weather during the voyage, and. arrived at Bluff Harbor on the I7th inst. We learn from a private letter that the Alhambra returned to Melbourne on the I2th inst. The vessel had been ashore, and her engines broke down. It is expected some time will elapse before she will be again able to resume her trips.
