COMMERCIAL.
The exports for the past month to Victoria amount in value to £431,953, showing a decrease of £139,937 ; to Sydney they amount to £211,922, or a decrease of £47,368; and to Adelaide they amount to £106,536, giving a decrease of £24,323 on last month's figures. In hides there has been little doing, and old rates have been maintained. Tallow is firm. Copper has been quiet, with few sales to report. The following quantities of goods were exported to Melbourne and Geelong between November and 12th December : — . Ale and beer, in bulk, 1897 hhds ; in glass, 1928 case's. Salt, 287 tons. Spirits — Bandy, 26,221ga1; rum, 6062ga1; British spirits, 19,417ga1. Tobacco and cigars, 46,2071 b. Wines, red and white, 12,014ga1. Cornsacks, 23,674 ; woolpacks, 15,400.
