NOVEAIBEB, 1861 Mawtkndalk— Gold, wet weather continued to prevnil, rain falling nearly every day, and the mean temperature being not only 6*4 deg. below the nine years' average, but muoh lower than ever before recorded in November. Heavy gales from the westward occurred on the Bth and 2 1st. On the day following the latter, and after it had lulled, the barometer fell to 28"82 inches (corrected), and remained below 29 inches for five days. Vegetation was much injured by the ungenial -weather. The mean temperature of the month was 503 ( — 6*4 deg. below the nine years' average) ; the maximum, 72*3 deg. on the Ist 5 minimum, 32*2 dog. on the 26th ; maximum, solar radiation, 109*6 deg. on the sth ; minimum, terrestrial, 28*8 deg. on 26th. The mean height of the barometer (corrected and reduced) was 29*411 inches ; maximum 29*939, on the 13th ; minimum, 28*825, on the 22nd. The mean dewpoint was 39*1 deg ; vapour tension, 0242 inch ; and humidity, '66. Rainfall, 6*208 inches on 23 days ; greatest fall, 0*971 inch on the 3rd. Evaporation, 2*763 inches. Cloud, 6*2. Wind, N.,0; N.E., 0; E.,4; 5.E.,2; S.,Oj 8.W., 0; W.,20; N.W., 4 days : mean daily movement, 188 miles ; greatest, 672 miles on 21st. The Bluff returns have not yet been received.
