Vigorous preparations are being made for the Abyssinian warfare. Numerous transports have been engaged at fa 1 ! rates, both steamer 3 and Bailing vessels. The King of Burmah is in terror of invasion from the forces of his rebellious son. The plague has broken out in the delta of the Euphrates and at Bagdad ; cholera prevails in several of the presidencies with great virulence. Great floods have occurred in the (3-anges, and the railways have been severely injured. Petroleum wells in Assam are being successfully worked ; 50,000 gallons of oil have been Bent to Calcutta for shipment. The ship Wauboiee has been destroyed by fire.
