Discovert of a Silk Plant.— The Department of State at Washington had received information from the United States Consul at Lambayeque, Peru, that an important discovery had recently been made in Peru of the silk plant. Preparations were been made to cultivate it on an extensive scale. The shrub is three feet or four feet in height.
