In addition to the two young trout which hare been previously noticed as having been produced by the ova received at Christchurch, the Lyttelton Times says another has been discovered amongst the sh'ngle in the breeding box. The three fish are healtby, and seem to thrive upon the young native fish which have been provided for them, and which have also been hatched from ova in the water of the artesian well. The arrangements for the supply of water to the fish enclosures are nearly completed and appear to answer perfectly. Complete control has been obtained over the temperature of, the Jwater. At first some doubts were entertained as to the suitability of artesian well water for the fish, but theße have been set at rest by the successful hatobing of the native fish alxeadj alluded to,
