"I N pursuance of the provisions of an Act of the •*• General Assembly of New Zealand intituled "Regulation of Elections Act, 1858," I, Charles Rous Marten, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Oreti, do hereby give notice that vby virtue of a Writ bearing date the 25th day of September, 1867, issued under the hand of His Honor the Superintendent, an ELECTION will be held for the return of a qualified person to serve as a MEMBER of the PROVINCIAL COUNCIL of Southland, for the said Electoral District, and that the NOMINATION of CANDIDATES will take place at the Police Station, Lowtheb, on Wednesday, the 9th day of October, 1867, at noon, and that the poll (if necessary) will be taken on Thursday, the 10th day of October, 1867.
