Weight, Robertson and Co.'3 Report, 29th September, 1867 : — The stock market is without change. Fat sheep and cattle have been in moderate supply, and prices remain very firm. In store sheep little or no business is doing; a demand for wethers, however, exist?, but sellers demand more than buyers are disposed to grant. Fat Cattle. — The market has been barely Bupplied, and prices remain firm. We quote prime beef, 50s; middling, 45s to 47s 6d per lOOlbs. Fat Calves in request at from £3 to £5 each. , Store Cattle are scarce and in good demand. We quote steers, 2 to 4 years old, from £9 10s to £10 ; mixed cattle, £8 to £9. Dairy Cows are in good request at from £15 to £20. Fat Sheep. — The supply has been very moderate, and prices have advanced. Good mutton is now worth 5d per lb, delivered in town. We have sold a considerable number for delivery Over the next two months, at 19s per head, delivered in town, which will average about 4f d to 5d per lb. Store Sheep. — Few sheep have changed hands during the month. We quote 2, 4, and 6-tooth ewes, in lamb, from 17* to ISs each ; mixed lambs 25s per pair, south ; 21s to 22s north ; store wethers, 6 and 8 tooth, are worth from 13s to 14 each, at which prices we have effected sales. r - Horses. — The demand for good draught, saddle, and light harness horses still continues. Our sales have been as follows : — Ex Omeo — 16 head, Mr BookLss's, chiefly draught, at from £41 to £70 each; 10 head, Mr Traeey's, of a light description, from £18 to £24; 20 head, Mr Manning's, inferior to good, mostly light, from £15 10s to £33; Mr SwanneU's, 16 head, medium draughts, from £31 to £47. Ex Taranak , from Auckland — Mr Sparrow's, 11 head medium draughts, from £34 to £62 ; 15 head Provincial bred colts, very weedy, averaged £13 103. We quote heavy draught from £60 to £70; middling, £35 to £45; good saddle and light harness horses, £27 10s to £35 ; inferior, unsaleabl . Country Sales, — At James Kennedyj Eaq.'s Burnside Farm, yesterday, we sold 33 head milch cows, at from £14 to £24 10s each ; a few pure Ayrshire cows realised from £33 to £56 each ; six head Ayrshire heifers, two years old, averaged £24; Ayrshire yearling bulls sold at from £11 to £18 ; calves, £5 to £11 each. Station Properly. —There continue numerous inquiries for sheep runs. We have sold to Messrs Smith and Saunders, Mr Thomas Hall's run ; in the Mackenzie Country, consisting of 50,000 acres, with 7,000 mixed sheep and all improvements, for £13,000. Wool Report. — Our London advices, under date of 26:h July, say : — " The arrivals of wool up to the present time amount to 113,000 bales, of which upwards of 36,000 bales are from New Zealand. Trade generally is very quiet; but the wool market appears to be in a healthy state, and we look for prices about equal to the rates curxent at the June sales.
