Our dates from San Erancisco are to the 14th July. From our exchanges we compile the following summary of news : —

The Indian troubles are thickening on the overland route. Active hostilities have broken out on the plains, and numerous depredations and murders are reported. General Sherman has recommended that the telegraph and mail routes be transferred to the north side of the Platte, which is being done. Generals Gibbons, Augur, and Custar are moving , upon the Indians, who are, however, in small scattered bands, and will be difficult to catch. The citizens of Colorado are organising volunteer companies to pursue the Indians. The citizens of Central City have raised 5000 dollars, which they offer to pay out for scalps, at the rate of 20 dollars a piece. A despatch dated Salt Lake, June 8, says: — "the overland route is seriously obstructed by Indians from the western terminus of the "Union Pacific Eailroad to Green river. The route is perilous, and the danger is constantly increasing. The contractors are doing all in their power to push the mail through.
