DUNJHiDIN. Sept 4th, 5 p.m. Wellington telegrams of yesterday says : — Accounts from the goldfield at the Thames, Auckland, are not encourageing. The trial of a Chinamen for a murderous assault upon a man named Harboard, at Tuapeka, is progressing. September 5, 11 a.m. Wellington, yesterday — -Legislative Council passed " the previous question " on Privilege Bill, which sought to confine money matters to House of Eepresentatives, hoping to make terms with House of Eepresentative for passing " Council Limitation Bill." Debate on supplies continued, and further adjourned till this evening. Vogel's amendment withdrawn in favor of Steven's amendment proposing repeal of "Loan Allocation A.ct." The speeches showed the ministerial policy to be opproved of as a whole.
