In consequence of information received on. Saturday, to the effect that a -wreck had occurred at the Heads, and that three bodies had been washed on shore at Orongoronga River, several men yesterday morning volunteered their services, and, headed by Mr W. Dalton, proceeded with ■-Messrs Bethune & Hunter's whale-boat to tne Tieinity. These men, to whom all credit is due for their enterprise, left Hunter's Wharf at eight; o'clock yesterday morning, and arrived at: Cameron's station, ahount nine miles this side of; where the vessel must have stranded, at about; ten o'clock, and then, proceeded overland to the i .•cene of ihe "wreck, 1 where they 'arrived at about : one p.m. The lost vessel proved to be the cutter j Cordelia, of Auckland, bound from Lyttelton to : Auckland with . grain, and the three bodies are .supposed to be those of the crew of the jll-fated; resseL — " New Zealand Advertiser," sth August. ;
