Mr Travers is to move, on Tuesday, a resolution as to the expediency of introducing a Divorce Bill, vesting the jurisdiction in the Supreme Court. The Government is favorable to the motion. Mr Eeynolds proposed a motion objecting to tbe payment of members of the Audit Committee. On a division, 22 voted for the motion, and 22 against it, Tbe Speaker decided against the motion. There has been no evening sitting. The Town Board has decided not to levy more rates, in consequence of the decision of the Appeal Court- in the Pic- , ton case. The Government will legislate , on the subject. The report as to the discovery of a payable goldfield in the province of Auckland is revived. (From the " Lyttelton Times" July 26.) [BY SUBMARINE TELEGEAPH.] Wellington, July 25, 1 L.25 a.m. In the debate on the Provincialists' motion Dr Featherston followed Mr Fitzherbert, expressing his satisfaction at the amendment of the Government, as conceding the substance of the motion, and disclaiming any intention to upset the Ministry so long as they granted their rights to the provinces. Tbe amendment was ultimately carried on the voices. Mr M'Lean proposed that the committee on provincial affairs, asked for by the resolution, be ballotted for, when Messrs Carleton, Ludlam, and Hall, were substituted for Messrs Curtis, Eyes, and Moorhouse. The Governor is ill. 7 p.m. A new writ for the Ashley district has been ordered. The Government is preparing a bill rendering the real estate of insolvents more available to creditors. The Egmont sailed with the Southern Panama mail at 3 p.m. Mr Croßbie Ward was very ill when he left Panama fop New Xorfe,
