WELiJiraTOir, 18th 9 a.m. Adjourned debate on management of Goldfields question, Vogel's motion, resulted last night in. favor of Goverment. Majority four f in which were, Cargill, Hankinson, M'Neil, and Wood. Government carried amendment that the delegated powers be not necessarily given to the Superintendents of Provinces. Ayes, 28 ; noes, 24. Government will make question ministerial one in TJpper House. The five Canterbury, -mem- _ bers voted with the Government. During the debate on the delegated powers question, Mr Wilson's speech induced M £ Andrew to move, an adjournment on the grounds that reply was not sufficiently cool. When he spoke he deprecated the consideration of the question on personal grounds, as he had been much misrepresented and maligned by ex^parte statements.
