Captured ' two Europeans (Moore and Begg), who were working in r a garden with other two men — (Wilkinson and Livingstone.) The latter escaped to the camp. The fate of the former is unknown. The marauders are the same party that "murdered Yolkner, and are an isolated gang not recognized by any Maori body. The loss in the winding up of the Bank of Auckland is not so great as was expected. Another heavy flood has occurred at Hawkes Bay— communication with butlying districts cut off' Amount of damage not yet known. The Honorable Ponsonby Peacock has been made Commissioner of Crown Lands. " -
