Apteb nearly a week's debate on the railway extension, the only thing accomplished was the resignation of the Blacklock Ministry, and the shelving of the question under discussion. The General impression-is that no ministry will have the confidence of the people, that w ill not act in favor of the railway scheme. Great indignation is expressed by the public generally on the action of the squatters. . It is said that the late movement on their part has had a double significance, and that Mr Cuthbebtson purposes offering himself as a candidate for the Superintendency, with the view of perpetuating squatting supremacy. As this gentleman was mainly instrumental in throwing out the railway scheme, it' is thought that he will have but a poor chance, if opposed to Dr Menzies, and the latter gentleman consents to stand, as he is much more popular and esteemed. The names of the members of the new Government is announced to be made public this evening.
