PBOYINCIAL COUNCIL. Considerable interest "was manifested in the proceedings of the Provincial Council last eVening, the Council Hall being filled by our citizens and" settlers from the country, all anxious to learii the fate of the resolutions brought forward, by Jbhe Provincial ."Government respecting the completion of the Korthern, : and | making an eastern Jine of railway. After the voluminous correspondence on; the subject had been again read for the benefit of those members; who were not present at the previous sitting, it was agreed to have selections printed for the better information of hon. members. ! On ffie motion of Mr CtJTHBEBTSbs-, a jcommittee was appointed to consider the propriety of including the. unpaid liabilities^"ofTEe T Town Board, in the general liabilities of the Province. Mr Clerke's motion for sthe correspondence relative to the salaries ■of those officials of the "Waste Land Board, which were reduced at last session, resulted in the reading of the documents. The question with regard to the expense incurred on account of the G-overnor's reception was answered by the PBavTBTCiAL Secbetast, to the effect that the matter was still, unsettled. Dr Meuzie's motion fbr a Bum of £100 as a premium for the production of 500 bushels of barley was, after some discussion, agreed to. A motion by 3)r MEirziES tor a return of the particulars of all sums paid to Mr Marehant in the years 1863-4 was passed j and a Committee appointed to consider -the petition for the opening of the block at the west end of Taystreet for sale, when the Council adjourned till next evening at 7 o'clock, A folf report will appear in our next issue. r
