PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH ANNUAL SOIREE.

On Thursday evening, the 21st February, the Annual Soiree of the Eiverton Presbyterian Church was held in the Odd Fellows' Hall, which was very tastefully decorated for the occassion. A large number of persons sat down to a substantial tea at 7 o'clock. The chair was taken by Eev. J. M. Clark, supported by other Ministers. Tea having been finished, the 100 th Psalm waa sung by the Choir, under the direction of Mr D. Cameron, the whole of the company joining in ; after which the Chairman made a long and very edifying speech, mentioning that the Church ought to be very thankful for the favorable circumstances in -which they were at present placed. In the course of the evening addresses were deUvered by the Eev. Mr Bannerman, A. H. Stobo, and Messrs Brown, G. Eeid, junr. Patterson, M'Phee, Ireland, Daniels, Honore, and other gentlemen. The meeting was also enlivened by a selection of vocal and Instrumental Music by the Choir, assisted by Mr E. Wilson on the Harmonium. Altogether a most pleasant evening was spent, being brought to a close by singing the evening hymn, and the benediction being offered by the Chairman.
