LONDON WOOL REPORT.
Since the close of last sales there have been a few inquiries, and sales of a very limited character. The advance paid has been about one penny, but that only on sorts most wanted. It is not expecte4 that prices will be maintained at the March sales. Bradford Market quiet, and although manufacturers are moderately busy, yet orders do not equal expectations. Hides. — The first sales this season were rather heavy. There was, hswever, a pretty good demand, and rather more than half of the Australian offered met with buyers at full prices. Eirst-class heavy were chiefly taken at _id. to _id. Good first light sold at 3-f*. to 3|d. Sugar. — A very active demand has been experienced since the opening of the market. A further advance of Is to Is 6d, per cwt. has taken place, and some large parcels have been taken on speculation.
