• The s.b. Albion left Sandridge pier, at 4.45 a.m. on the morning of Saturday last, the 22nd inst., Experienced light variable winds for the first two days ; afterwards encountered strong favourable winds during the remainder of the trip ; sighted the Solauders at 4 a.m., and arrived at the Bluff at 10.45 a.m., on the 28th. She brings about 90 steerage passengers for the various Northern ports, amongst which are about 30 Chinese, boundfor the Otago Gold-fields. There is every probability of a laTge number arriving during the ensuing winter. The Airedale, s.s., left Port Chalmers yesterday (Wednesday, 27th inst.), and encountered strong head winds during the whole passage. She arrived at Bluff Harbor wharf yesterday (Thursday) about half-past four p.m., and left again in the evening. The signal at the Bluff station, denoting the arrival of inward steamer's was not hoist until the Airedale had nearly turned the opposite point to the pilot station. This, however, may have been occasioned by the inclemency of the weather outside, and is not attributable to remissness on the part of the signal man.
