The proximity of this Province to those Goldfields, and the continuous and abundant supply of Produce and Merchandise this Province is in a position to furnish, the present irregular and uncertain mode of communication, all point to the desirability of apdcally owned Steamer and other vessels. Country Settlers are specially interested in this undertaking ; they have been long debarred from competition in markets open to the Settlers of the other Provinces of New Zealand.
