The Bivertonians -determining not, to be behind in. their amusements came out in full holiday attire, on Boxing. Day;, and, .withi their up-cqnntry friends, who came in. numbers, made a fine show at a picnuywhich was given by the Committee ofthe^M. U.X O, 0, F. for the benefit of the "Widows and; Orphans fund, on the . grounds/rf his Honor (J. P. Taylor, Esq.,) kindly lent for the occasion. . The sports consisted; of foot ball, running, jumping, iAunt/Sallyy quoits, dancing, and cricketing- ;by : the members of the Eiverton > Cricket Club, and all descriptions of old country .games. In the morning the volunteers .turned out in good numbers for >rt the butts, and the evening closed with manya jovial meeting. i -On Monday: next the Eiverton Cricket Club are going to play a match with the Grummy's Bush '; Cricket Club, on the •las.t-:named club's grounds ; wickets to be .pitched. at 11 -o'clock a.m. It is to be hoped- that they will be favored with fine for their sport.
