Consolation Handicap, 20 soys. One mile and quarter. Entry, £1. : For all beaten horses. RULES AND REGULATIONS. Rules of Otago Jockey Club strictly adhered to. Mares and Geldings allowed 31bs. No entry will be received for any of the above races except on this condition :,— That all disputes, claims, and objections, arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards or whom they may appoint. No person shall be allowed to run a horse unless the latter be qualified as the bona fide property of a subscriber of two sovereigns to the race fund. All entries to be sealed and addressed to the Stewards, at Colyer's Hotel, on or before 6th February, entry money enclosed, with name, age, and pedigree of the horse, name of the owner, and colors of the rider. Any jockey not riding in colors entered will be fined two sovereigns. All dogs found on the course will be destroyed, without respect to ownership. Entries for the Invercargill Handicap must be made at Colyer's Hotel, on or before Ist February. Three horses to start for each race, or tha public money will not be added. ALEX. The size of the several allotments in each of the Blocks specified, from 1 to 6, and date of sale, will be duly notified in the Provincial Government Gazette.
