POSTAL NOTICE.
On and after January Ist, 1867, the following rates of postage will be charged on all letters and newspapers posted in New Zealand, for delivery within the Colony :— No. 1. Town Letters. Posted at any Post-office, within the colony for delivery at or from such Post-office : — Not exceeding $-an oz. ... ... Id. Exceeding £ an oz., but not exceeding 1 oz. ... 2d. For every oz., or fraction of en oz. overloz. .. ... ... 2d. No. 2. Country Letters. Posted at any Post-office within the colony for delivery at or from any other Post-office within the same Province : — I Not exceeding \an oz ... ... 2d. Exceeding \ an oz., but not exceeding 1 oz 4d. For every oz., or fraction of an oz. over 1 oz. ... ... ... 4d. No 3. Interprovincial Letters. Posted at any Post-office within the colony, for delivery at or from any Post-office in any other Province within the colony : — Not exceeding \an oz. ... .... 3d. Exceeding £ an oz., but not exceeding 1 oz. ... ... ... ... 6d. For every oz. or fraction of an oz. overloz. ... 6d. On all Newspapers posted within the colony for delivery within the colony, One Penny each, MAILS CLOSE FOB — Campbelltown, Daily. Eiverton and Orepuki, this day, IBth insfc., at 10.15 a.ir>. Bunedin, Matauia, and Long Bush, on Monday, 21st inst., at 7 p.m. Waianiwa, Wallacetown, Winton, Benmore, Lowther, Athol, Nokomai, Kingston, and Queenstown, on Monday, 21st inst., at 7 p.m. Per s.B. Otago, on Saturday, I9fch inst., as tinder: — For India, China, Ceylon, Singapore, Batavia, Manilla, Mauritius, Cape of Good Hope, Aden, Alexandria, America, and the Continent of Europe via Trieste via London and via Marseilles, at 8 p.m. Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia, Western Australia, and Tasmania at 8.30 p.m. Great Britain via Southampton (for letteri so marked), at 9 p.m. Great Britain via Marseilles (both for letters and papers) and Victoria, at 9.30 p.m. Newspapers, at 8 p.m. Registered letters, at 4 p.m. Money orders, for transmission by the above mails, may be procured until 4 p.m. Late letters for Great Britain via Marseilles, and Victoria only, will be received unti 9.45 p.m. EDW.
