PRUSSIA.
By a treaty of peace between Saxony i and Prussia, the former for all practical purposes ceases to be a kingdom. She is to enter the North G-erman Con- 1 federation. Konigstein and Dresden j are to receive mixed garrisons for the other towns until the. Saxon army is reorganised; she makes over to Prussia the Johann and Gorlitz Kail way, and surrenders the sole control of all the telegraphic wires. The Zollverein treaty is to continue in force, Saxony undertaking to regulate all diplomatic regulations on the basis laid down by the North I German Confederation. ; Baden has rejected the Prussian alliance. The relations subsisting between Prussia and the Netherlands are most satisfactory, although the contrary has been stated. The Prussian Government journal denies that Prussia has entered into negotiations upon the Eastern question with Austria, Russia, or any other power, 1 as stated in the English journals. [Want of space compels our holding • over a portion of the English news. It 1 will, however, appear in our next issue] .
