COMMERCIAL INTELLIGENCE.
The Oamaru Times of the 2nd November, con» tains the foUowing oommer ial inteUigence •-— We have to report oontinued inactivity in trade generaUy, but, as before stated, merchants are looking forward to brisker times with the commencement of the wool season. During the week the CoUingwood, with a large cargo of coals from Newcastle, has arrived. The discharging of this cargo, and that portion of the Royal Bride intended for this place, wiU keep the boating services pretty busy for some time. The weather continues fine and dry, but too dry to please farmers, as more frequent showers are greatly needed at this time. We stall quote Oamaru flour £16 per ton ; Adelaide, nominal. Little of this latter is now kept in stock, it being rather unsaleable, proving the increasing estimation in which the Oamaru manufacture is being held. There is little doing in wheat — for small parcels we quote 5s to 5s 6d ; for good samples of seed barley, 8s ; oats, 63 6d to 7s ; bran, 2s per bushel. Potatoes are placed at £3 10s par ton to £4 per ton.
