Bard of the forest green, Fair be the flowers, and Bheen The bonnie heath bells that encircle thy brow t Bright as the rainbow's rim, Or wing of the cherubim la the halo of fame which emblazons the now, n. Yarrow's lone whispering stream, Theme of the Poet's dream, Mourned when no longer thy voice ahe might hear; And from each heathy hill Kushed every tiny rill, To blend in her sorrow, and weep by thy bier, $ HI. Shepherds with hearts so true, Maidens with eyes so blue, _ Weave a meet chaplet more glorious than bay, ' Fox-glove with merlid spot, Modest forget-me-not, And " flowers of the forest," resplendent as day, IT. By lonely St Mary, The feet of the fairy, By moonlight will dance on_the soft dewy sward, And in the merry ring, Deftly and sweetly sing Lays to the love and the fame of their bard. V. Time with his silent wings, Fleets o'er all human things, Crumbling and crushing, and wasting away ; Fame of our shepherd bard, Fresh as the em'rald sward, Shall flourish and bourgeon for ever and aye.
