DEATH OF GLENTURREL'S DAUGHTER, By Elza Willson. The sun set on Glenturrel Hall, And mournfully his light did fall ; For in that house" was death and gloom, A form lay ready for the tomb ; Glenturrel's daughter, Still and fair, The sleep of death was sleeping there. Oh ! woe is in Glenturrel Hall, Within her sombre funeral pall, Her dai'k eyes closed, she lays at rest, Her fair hands clasped upon her breast ; While from her brow, So cold and lair, Falls loosely down her raven hair. Oh ! death is in GHenturrel Hall, A solemn silence reigns o'er all ; No more that footstep, swift and light, That silvery tone, and glance so bright, Shall fireefc C+lenturrers loving eye ; With her his hopes and pleasures die. Invercargill, October sth, 1866.
