Chbistchtjech, 26th Sept. Business being pushed, on fast in the Assembly. Bill imposing stamps from penny to threepence on letters, and from penny to threepence on newspapers passed second reading. District Eoad Board dropped. Yogel moved that the Provinces should have bhree-eights revenue from stamp duties. Barnes will move resolutions in favor af making Auckland and Otago ports of 3all for the, Panama steamers. Cheistchuech, 27th Sept. Increased postage on letters and papers passed all stages, having been carried by a majority of one only. Stamp Duties Schedule passed Commitkee, the only change being that receipts under five pounds not chargeable. Auckland has thrown up responsibility jonnected with confiscated lands ; great jonfusion of financial arrangements in jonßequence. Auckland loan withdrawn.
