The market for breadstuff's steadily maintains its position, any sales effected having been at very full prices. Hart's Adelaide flour has been placed for transhipment, in parcels of twenty tonß in a line, at £16 ss. Some small parcels of Port; M'Doncell wheat have been placed at 7s, and sales of Chilian wheat have transpired at 6s lsd. Maize is firming, and were shipments oc a more moderate scale than of late a rise in price would be the immediate result. Sales have been made at prices ranging fronr 4s 9d to 4s lid. Bran is disposed of at reduced rates j parcels of Victorian have been as low at Is 6d. In sugars, rations are iaquired for, and sales are reported at up to £26 to £27. In teas, we learn of transactions to a moderate extent ; ordinary congous having been sold at Is 2d, and low common at Is 4d. Malt, in trade parcels, continues to be placed at 9s 3d. Oilmen's stores meet with considerable attention, for as prices appear to have seen their lowest, the larger buyers are more inclined to operate. A thousand cases of Batty's pii-kles, in two lines of 500 cases each, having changed hands on private terms, said to be a figure which justifies holders in asking 8s 6d for small parcels. In liquids, we learn of sales of Bass's ale, Ho. 3, at £7. Inquiries for bulk stout have also been experienced, which it is likely will lead to sales of the Artillery Brewery Company's at £7 to £7 ss, offers al less money having beea refused. Machen's bottled has been quitted at 10a 6d. Sales of Burkes stout have, been made at a similar figure. Piate of the latter brand hare been sold at 6s 9d.
