Letters sent » or by Seamen and Soldiers Her Majesty's Service will be transmitted within the colony, and between the colony and any postoffice in the Brinh dominions, at a charge of one penny, providedfchat the following regulations are observed :— \ 1. Each letter %st not exceed half an ounce in weight. \ 2. It must be, siberscribed with the name of the writer, his\description or class in the ressel or regiment, and signed by the officer at the time in coiimand. 3. The postage mulfc lie prepaid. Every letter of this posted or received in this colony, no in accordance with the foregoing regulations, wfl be treated as an ordinary letter. The postage upon the 3 letters must iv all cases be paid in advance. Free <ettebs. Letters on the public ;rvice of Her Majesty naval and military forc< are exempted from the payment of postage, if earing the words " On Her Majesty's Service," ,nd the signature of the officer in command of th force on the service of which the letter is despa ;hed. But such letters cannot be transmitted b any irregular route, or one entailing additional < cpense on the Colonial Government. \ Letters on the public of the General Government of the Coloiy are transmitted free by post, if bearing the iords "On the public service only," and the signature of some officer of the General Governmait authorised to frank letters.
