We have been ivored by the Chief Commissioner of Jlice, with the following report : — C(3tabulary Station, EivertoiSth September 1806. Sergeant-Majf - Chapman reports that on 7th insfct, a man iiruned Young, i sold to the ban! here seventeen ounces of very co:irse dj gold, Avhich he said was got near >* Hogers's Station near Athol. He ali sa id ln3 mate and five others were s*-l on the ground; they have been bad' off for water, having to make dunsto^eh rain water for washing ; could a 'O'l s ipply of wa^er be had thar'e he ha«o dmbt" but the terraces would pay wl if worked.
